As laid down and got comfortable again, Charles expected to feel relaxed, as his body would do, but nothing of the such came. He felt his spirit relax but it was an entirely different sensation, merely a mocking of what a body can do. He blinked some tears out of his eyes, eying Edwin. He reached out, messing with the boy's hair, missing the sensation of his locks between his fingers.
"You looked so handsome, yeah? With the birds," Charles whispered, remembering it as his trembling fingers caressed Edwin's cheek. "Rare to see you smile like that," he said.
