It was a little muffled, brow still resting against Charles' shoulder, because that really was the crux of it, he was used to having control even when he slid into that edge of panic from an unexpected source, the worst that happened was he would freeze for a moment -and Charles generally got him moving again when necessary- but never felt the odd, shapeless sort of anxiety and even shame that came with it. That he definitely didn't like.
