In deference to Charles' headache Edwin continued to keep his voice low, but he couldn't help but smile at the praise, "I'm afraid you're terribly biased, Charles." A twitch of a smile, mostly trying to keep it from becoming an out and out grin, "But I'll accept it all the same, it isn't as if anyone else is going to call it out."

He settled just as easily as Charles did, hesitating only briefly before leaning in to press a kiss to Charles' temple, settling back again, just studying his face. It was the same as it had ever been, the same as he'd always known it, but there was still something more to it now that he couldn't place.
