The Cat is about to make a face and ask how the fuck he should know what stamp collecting is called, when Edwin removes the very accessory the Cat had been needling him to, but instead of slipping it into his pocket or willing it out of existence, he ties it to sit front and center on the Cat's wrist, like some kind of bizarre Edwardian corsage.

"A mark of..." He repeats dumbly, staring down at the fabric as though it were the most intricate puzzle he'd ever seen, completely struck by surprise for a moment before the spell breaks, and he bursts into a peal of barking laughter.

"Oh Edwin- Edwin, Edwin, Edwin..." He manages, breathless with his own mirth, but it isn't mean sounding like his laughter often is. In fact, it actually sounds quite fond, and relieved in a way. After all, if Edwin had done something flirtatious on the level the Cat usually reaches for, he's not sure that he would have been able to recover his composure well enough to get them back to the cannery in any semblance of order. "We really need to have a talk some day about what a little tease you can be without meaning to be. Any less reasonable Cat might have shown you claws. You're lucky I find you so cute. Especially when you say stupid shit like philately."

He's joking, for the most part. He stretches out his arm as if he were a woman in a romcom admiring the massive stone in her new engagement ring. It is pretty touching that Edwin gave him something of his own like this, even if (to his knowledge) it will disappear as soon as Edwin steps through the mirror and returns to London.

"And, for what it's worth, I was pretty pretentious when I was a marmalade. But I died in a state of great emotional transition, and I guess whatever power controls my reincarnation has a weird sense of humour." A casual little shrug, before he drops his arm and reforms it around Edwin's. "Let's both hope black cats aren't as unlucky as their reputation makes them seem, huh?"
